5K to celebrate and honor Alli
From Alli's mom Mindy…On September 8th, 2013, my daughter Alli Grace passed away from unknown causes. During the time Alli was alive, I had lots of help, from people who were willing to not only babysit but people who offered us money. It was during those moments that I realized just how special it was to be a single mother and just how blessed I am.
After Alli passed away, I wanted to keep her name alive by honoring her so I started a foundation called Allistrong. Alli’s foundation was built to provide assistance to those in our community that are in need. The Allistrong Foundation was founded on November 14th, 2013, which would have been Alli’s 1st birthday. Since, I have decided to open a free store and food bank, offering adult literacy, resume writing, and free tutoring to the children of our area.
With the money we receive from the race, we will be offering a scholarship to a 2015 area senior who not only displays academic and athletic talent, but also has a strong background in community service. We will also use funds to help run the store. We need funds for things like electricity, rent, cleaning supplies, and we would like a computer. We also have no air conditioning as our pipes have ruptured and the cost to fix it far more than we can afford.
We would love your support to not only raise money for the store and the scholarship, the race also takes place the day after Alli’s birthday. Come celebrate Alli’s birthday, and our cause.
